Services for Draeger, 87, on Tuesday

OSAGE, IOWA -- August Draeger, 81, longtime Mitchell County resident, died Friday afternoon at Osage, having been in failing health for several years.

Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 1:30 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Osage, with burial in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Born April 13, 1874, to August and Augusta Draeger at Melvin, Illinois, moved as a small child to Lockood, Mo., then returned to Illinois where he married Anna Wittich in 1897. They moved to Mitchell County in 1904, lived on a farm near Little Cedar and then to St. Ansgar. His wife preceded him in death in 1940.

Since his failing health he has been living with his daughter and family in Osage.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. A. V. Adams, Osage, and Miss Esther Draeger, Waterloo; a son, Fred, Osage; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; six brothers and a sister.
