Services will be on Thursday, August 29, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Catherine S. Neu age 83 of St. Cloud who died Monday, August 26, at the Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park. Reverend Virgil Helmin will officiate.
Burial will be in the St. Anthony Parish Cemetery in Watkins. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. The Christian Women will pray at 4:00 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m. and the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Catherine was born on October 3, 1918 in St. Nicholas, Minnesota to Frank and Susan (Schmitt) Berger. She married Leo N. Neu on April 26, 1931 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas, Minnesota. Catherine and Leo farmed in Watkins for over 30 years until moving to St. Cloud in 1969. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Christian Women.
Survivors include four sons, Frank and his wife Janet of Rockville, Rich and his wife Colleen, Dan and his wife Jacquelyn, and Andy and his wife Susan all of St. Cloud; two daughters, Theresia Linn and her husband Ralph of Watkins, and Rosie Cota and her husband Charles of St. Cloud; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Malecha of St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo on August 19, 1997; two sons, Vernon, and Roman; one great granddaughter, Kayla Neu; two sisters, Adeline Neu, and Delphine Hennen; three brothers, Jerome, Alois, and Benedict. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
