Former Wichita Resident Dies In Larned at 77

Mrs. Zella Kessler, 77, formerly of 4124 E. Lewis, died Friday in a Larned, Kan,m hospital.

Born Sept. 27, 1883, in El Dorado, Kan., Mrs. Kessler resided in Wichita for 25 years. She was married in Topeka, Kan., in 1939 to Harvey L. Kessler. He died in 1942.

Mrs. Kessler was a member of College Hill Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine No. 5 and the 20th Century Club.

Survivors include one son, Leland W. Opperman, 4124 E. Lewis; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Hulen, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Nellie Riddle, Mrs. Mildred Hill and Mrs. Ruth Funderburk, all of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Ray and Charles Sharp, both of Kansas City; and two grandsons.

Last rites will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Byrd -Snodgrass Funeral Chapel With Dr. Herbert B. Cockerill, pastor of College Hill Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
