Clarence Curry
Clarence Lester Curry died Saturday, September 24, 1994, at the Sheffield Manor Nursing Home in Franklin.
Mr. Curry, 80, was a resident of Franklin. He left survivors in the Brown County area.
He was born October 28, 1913, in Decatur, Illinois, to Edward Hayes and Lena Frances Hudson Curry.
He and Cora Edna Grindstaff were married October 9, 1933, in Franklin. She survives.
Other survivors include six daughters, Lena Harris of Columbus, Carolyn Montgomery of Bainbridge, Mary Carver of Mooresville, Marjie Curry of Greenwood and Linda Curry and Nancy Curry, both of Franklin; seven sons, Robert Eugene Curry and David Curry, both of Indianapolis, Jerry Curry of Trafalgar, Raymond Curry of Greenwood, James W. Curry of Whiteland, Gary Curry of Franklin and Randall Curry of Nineveh; three sisters, Berniece Byrd of Florida and Elsie Pearl Taylor and Mary Bekeman, both of Columbus; and a brother, Earl Curry of Columbia, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Dale Curry, in 1933; two grandsons; nine sisters; and four brothers.
Mr. Curry was a life-long farmer. He also worked eight years at Valentine's elevator in Franklin, retiring in 1973.
A member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church, he had lived in Franklin 68 years.
The Reverend Dan Moore conducted a service Tuesday, September 27, at the Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
