Elsie was the daughter of John Hayes Curry and Lena Francis Hudson Curry. Elsie endured the loss of her mother and eldest sister just 11 days before her 7th birthday. She grew into a lovely young woman.

She married Henry Stotts, from Adair County, Kentucky. They had eight children and lovingly raised their grandson, Steve Henderson as one of their own, which, in their hearts he was. In the first 15 years or more of her marriage, Elsie not only raised her children but also worked inside and outside the home. When she and her beloved Henry bought a home with a crumbled foundation, they put their wits and strength together and rebuilt it.. She had amazing gardens, from which they fed their family fresh produce in the spring and summer, and canned, dried, and preserved produce in the winter months. Elsie Pearl was a naturally gifted cook. She and Henry welcomed their children and grandchildren to their home each Sunday for one of Elsie's home cooked meals. Her entrees were legendary, as were her produce and macaroni and cheese. Her cakes, pies, cookies and pastries, were, beyond description and must have been prepared with her love and Heaven's special blessing.
She was an excellent Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great grandmother. She had the ability to make each and every one of us feel that we were her favorite. She stood for honesty, truth, compassion and understanding. She often read scripture, and used it as a reference when others sought out her advice. She kept up with the times, and to her death day, her opinions on matters of the heart, and the world were spot on. There will never be another like her in this world.

In the final moments of her life, the entire family came together in her hospital room to bid her goodbye. As we waited for everyone's arrival My Uncle Ronnie read scripture and then we began to sing hymns. As the last great Grandchild arrived and bid her good-bye, we joined hands and began singing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". As we sang, Elsie, knowing that all her loved ones who could possibly be there were, quietly and peacefully bade us farewell as her spirit rose up to Heaven. Her death, like her life, embraced each member of her family with love and was beautiful beyond description.

She is sorely missed by all who were blessed to know her. We love you and miss you Grandma. You will live forever in our hearts.Parents: Edward H Curry, Lena M Curry (Hudson)
