Bertha 'Dillinger' Hood was the daughter
of Steve Dillinger and Judith 'Melton'
Dillinger.

She had one living sibbling, an older brother,
William Franklin Dillinger. 'Frank'
They both were born in Old Bernice, Indian
Territory.

Bertha met and married William 'Bill' Hood.
The couple were married in Indian Territory,
Fairland, Ottawa County on July 17, 1919.

They were the parents of two children:
Johnny and Roberta. Johnny never married
and lived with his parents all of his life.
Johnny was legally blind.
Bill and Bertha raised two of their
grandchildren, Jimmy Drake and Deloris
Drake. They lived on a farm about 5 miles
out of Seneca. Great Uncle Bill would have
a huge garden and when we would
visit, he sent us home with some wonderful
veggies. Gr. Aunt Bertha always had a
homemade pie or cobbler baked from
fresh fruit when we visited them. We
went often to see them and always
enjoyed their company.

They worked very hard and were a very
caring and loving family. Bertha
was a member of the Baptist Church.

My fond childhood memories will always be
cherished of my Great Aunt Bertha and
Great Uncle Bill.
