Sadie was married twice, and had several children. She first married January 31, 1919 to George Raleigh Galloway, said to be buried at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Lydia, Darlington County, South Carolina. Her second husband was Roy Dudley "Roy" Hatchell, a World War I Veteran buried at Darlington Memory Gardens in Hartsville, Darlington County along with his wife Ruth. Sadie reportedly died due to a stroke brought on by a difficult childbirth.

Son Alvin Galloway is buried in Maryland; son William Glenba "Billy" Hatchell is buried at Pine Grove United Methodist Church's cemetery in Darlington County; siblings Morrell and Gladys Galloway are buried at Wesley Chapel; Daughter Faye Hatchell married an Adams; and June Hatchell married Herbert Martin.

Although Sadie's grave marker has Sadie "E. Hatchell, most records, seem to have her as Sadie "C." Her death certificate lists her father, John Luther Alexander, Sr. as her death informant, and Luther likely gave the examiner her name, stating that "C" was her middle initial. I would think her father would know.
