"Mr. Ash was born November 10, 1924 in Gorman, Texas, a son of Joseph Ash and Alice Rogers Ash. He grew up in Abilene, Coleman, Tecumcari, NM and Aztec, NM. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II in the European Theater of Operations as well as in Africa and the Middle East and was an airplane armorer gunner. Following World War II he was stationed in Occupied Japan and also fought in Korea during the Korean War. In 1953 he married Bonnie Ann Wood in Aztec, NM. He was a carpenter and painter and a Baptist. He moved to Coleman several years ago.
"He is survived by two sons, Rick Ash and Randy Ash; two daughters, Tina Tabor and Pamela Palmer; the mother of his children, Bonnie Ann Ash; numerous grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
"He was preceded in death by three brothers, his twin brother Dorris Ash, Cecil Ash and Joe Ash; and by two sisters, Leona "Dink" Finely and Vera Stevenson.
"Memorials may be made to Holiday Hill Nursing Home, 245 State Highway 153, Coleman, Texas 76834."
