RICHARD BARNETT
Richard Barnett, 85, son of the late Robert and Martha Barnett, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, Jan. 29, 1872, and departed this life at the Helen and Martha Nursing Home in Chariton Dec. 7, 1957.
Mr. Barnett spent the greater part of his life in Chariton. He was a barber in Chariton for over 50 years, until his health prevented him from carrying on his trade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and his wife, who passed away in 1956.
Surviving to mourn his passing are his son, John Barnett of Chariton, and three daughters, Charlene Barnett of Chariton, Ruth Barnett of Des Moines and Louise Barnett of Omaha.
Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. John Bauserman, of the First Baptist church, officiated. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
