Obituary
Thomas Clemmer, died on Saturday evening about 7 o'clock, after a long and severe illness.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Coffey, and were attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, after which he was buried in Mt. Hope cemetery. "Father Clemmer" has long been an honored citizen of our community, having settled upon his fine farm some fifteen years ago, about two miles west of the city, where he enjoyed a pleasant home until his death. He was born in Pleasant county, Ohio in 1802, removed to Johnson county, Indiana, about 1841, where he resided until his removal to this county. 1844 he united with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist church, of which he was soon after ordained Deacon. This church was located about four miles west of Franklin, Ind. At the time of his death he was a beloved member of the Friendship Baptist church at Highland Centre, eight miles west of our city. He "died an old man and full of years" beloved by friends, and respected by all who knew him.
