Gone Before
Mrs. J.T. Green, who has been suffering from tonsilitis and other complicated throat troubles for the past ten days passed away this morning at her home three miles west of this city at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Green leaves a sorrowing husband and three children. The children are Mrs. Velma Rector of Oklahoma, Mrs. O. Hope and Mayo Green of Independence. The funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.

Death of a Pioneer. - Mrs. Eliza J. Green, one of the pioneers of this county, died at her home four miles west of this city Saturday morning, at the age of 58 years. Deceased and her husband, J.T. Green, came to this county over thirty years ago and engaged in farming and stock raising, which business they followed continuously ever since. Mrs. Green was a loyal and faithful Christian and a member of the Christian church. She was loved and respected by all who enjoyed the pleasure of her acquaintance, on account of her many acts of Christian charity and neighborly kindness. The funeral sermon was preached at 1 o'clock by J.A. Longston, pastor of the Christian church of this city, at Providence Christian church near the home of deceased, after which the remains were laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery.
