William Garrett Parsons was a son of John C. Parsons and Lucinda Nabors. He married Martha Dorcas Cowley in Jefferson County, Alabama December 01, 1857. Martha was a daughter of Jerome Drue Cowley and Permelia Hosmer.

William Garrett served in the Civil War. He and Martha had six children: Sarah Anna Pamelia who married C. Y. Marshall; Amanda Lucille (Lucinda) who married John T. Aaron; Samuel Alious 'Budd" Parsons; Dortha Mary Josephine Parsons; John D. Chabers Parsons; Charles Newman Parsons who married Etta (???) and Bera O'prey.
