Monroe Jackson Faries of Granbury, a retired aircraft painter at General Dynamics, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 in Granbury. He was 93. Mr. Faries was born October 5, 1908 in Coleman County. His parents were Fred and Louisa Dumas Fairies. He married Oda Murray January 4, 1931 in Coleman County. He was a Baptist and lived in Granbury for 14 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oda Faries in 1989, a grandson, Danny Knight in 1996 and a granddaughter, Linda Smith in 1984.
He is survived by three daughters, Jane Massey and Ramona Swain, both of Granbury, and Sallie Knight and husband Sid of Glen Rose; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are today (Thursday, June 13, 2002) at 10 a.m. in Woodland Park Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating.
