Mary E. Womeldorf, 66, of Cherryville, N.C., formerly of Harmony and a native of Clarion County, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, in Lincoln Medical Center, Lincolnton, N.C., following a short illness. She and her husband moved to North Carolina four months ago.

Born Oct. 22, 1932, in Toby Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Daniel G. and Mary C. GOODMAN BALLENTINE.

Mrs. Womeldorf was a 1950 graduate of Sligo High School. She received a degree in licensed practical nursing from Butler County Community College and had been employed at the L.A.S./Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople. She retired there May 8, 1999, after 30 years of service. Mrs. Womeldorf was of the Lutheran faith.

She was married in Portersville July 25, 1964, to William A. Womeldorf Sr., who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wilda REDINGER of Zelienople and Mrs. Kenneth (Leona) NOLAND of Renfrew; a son, William A. Womeldorf Jr. of Harmony; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by three brothers, Joseph WALTERS of New Bethlehem, James Walters of Coraopolis and Lewis Walters of Sligo; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Womeldorf was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn ENGLERT, in November 1954; three brothers, Daniel Ballentine, Bruce Ballentine and Cleo Walters; and a sister, Mildred Womeldorf.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home, Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. Clarence Mayhle, pastor of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, Rimersburg, officiating.

Interment will follow in Squirrel Hill Cemetery, New Bethlehem RD
