North - Mrs. Susie C. Shirey, 93, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Sunny Vista Church of God, with the Rev. Clifton Whitman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Mrs. Shirey was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Ira and Arena Gleaton Chavis. She was retired from Stone Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Sunny Vista Church of God. She was married to the late Dolford Shirey who was a former police chief of North. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley S. Hott of Holly Hill; sister, Margie Bolin of Denton, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael Frady of Oxford, N.C., Lewis Sweatman and Susie Hickmott, both of Summerville; and a great-grandchild, Michelle Frady of Goldsboro, N.C.
