Louise was born March 4, 1889 or 1892 (see further down) in Krakow, Poland to Mary Golitz Gallas and John Kotodziej. There has always been some discrepency on her birthyear. (There is some documentation as both 1889 and 1892.) As family, we are even unsure. Louise never knew her father. After they arrived in America they lived in Sobieski, WI. Her step-father, John Gallas was the only father she knew and he was killed in a 1914 farm accident.
Her mother arranged a marriage between Louise and Michael (Mike) Ostrenga on July 5, 1909. They lived in Dagget, MI, Big Suamico, WI, Milwaukee, WI and Oconto Falls, WI.
They had 11 children.
