Gaffney - Lydia Lorene Fitts McManus, 100, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Peachtree Centre in Gaffney. She was born July 28, 1909, in North, a daughter of the late Beulah Harley and Raymond Fitts. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Griffis McManus and son, Robert Glenn McManus. Survivors include a daughter, June McManus Gardner (Norman) of Spartanburg and sons, William Griffis McManus Jr. (Jean) of Taylors, Donald Ray McManus (Brenda) and Charles Ernest McManus (Peggy), all of Lexington, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will meet friends at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Dr. William Griffis McManus Jr. will be in charge of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
