Mrs. Rutha Bailey, 90, of Sano Route, Columbia, died Saturday, Feb. 6, at 8:35 a.m. at the Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late William P. and Mary Elizabeth Bryant and the widow of the late Buford Tim Bailey who preceded her in death on July 16, 1962. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by one brother, Alva Bryant of Elizabethtown; one sister, Bertha Conover of Sano Route, Columbia, and several other relatives. Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 8, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, who was in charge of funeral arrangements. Rev. Garnett Hammonds officiated. Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene Atchley, Donald Campbell, Kerry Collins, Herman Conover, Joseph Conover, and Bobby Kimbler.
