Ruth Eileen Beck, 60, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at VIP Manor, while under the care of VNA Tip Hospice.

She was born on June 28, 1949 in Alton, the daughter of Howard Samuel and June Eileen (Conklin) Emmons.

She married Carl Beck Jr. on June 5, 1971, in Cottage Hills.

She was a nurse at Eldercare Nursing Home and Jerseyville Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Forest Homes Southern Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She also enjoyed photography.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl O. III and Melissa Beck; a daughter, Nancy June and her fiance, Richard McCleery Jr., of Bethalto; three grandchildren, Kayla Michelle Beck, Abigail Rose Beck and Richard McCleery III; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Brenda Emmons of Alton; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Emmons.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home, Bethalto, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 24, with Tom Fea officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the Forest Homes First Southern Baptist Church.
