Vivian Tippets Nielsen

Vivian Tippets Nielsen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Friday, April 16, 2004, in her home, from complications related to cancer. She fought a courageous battle and was surrounded by loving family until the end. Her passing was sweet and the family is grateful her suffering has ended.

She was born Dec. 9, 1928 in Georgetown, Idaho. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many different callings throughout her life.

She married Lyle Joseph Nielsen, June 23, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple. She leaves behind a great posterity. She was an example of service and love to her entire family, whom she cherished.

She was a housewife striving always to meet the needs of her family. She was an avid reader of church books. She loved to sew, garden and bottle produce from her own garden. She also wrote childrens stories.

We thank you mom for your faith, your testimony, your example and your love. We love you and we will miss you.

Mom is survived by her loving husband, Lyle, of 54 years; children, Eileen (Randy) Bills, Karen (Dewayne) Bradshaw, Louanne Nielsen Olsen, Richard (Diane) Nielsen, Karla (Mike) Henderson, and Debbie (Jeff) Isaacson; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Ross Tippets of Idaho, and one sister, Vilate Widmer of Ogden.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Shauna Nielsen Josephson.

There will be a viewing Monday, April 19, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, at 11 a.m., at Leavitts Mortuary. There will be a short viewing before the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice, with a special thanks to Bonnie.
