Funeral Is Held For Adam Gokey

Funeral services for Adam Gokey, Jr., of Camargo were held last Thursday afternoon in the Buffalo Church of Christ, with interment in Willard Cemetery under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home in Vici.

The 42-year-old former Buffalo resident was killed in an automobile accident near Thomas April 25.

Gokey was born April 8, 1935, at Pawnee to Adam and Ethel Gokey. He grew to manhood at Tecumseh and in 1955 served a short time in the US Army.

Feb. 10, 1960, Gokey married Carol Jo Olmstead at Woodward. The couple then moved to Buffalo, living here until 1967. They moved to Watonga, residing there until 1969, then moved to Erick, living there until 1970 when they went to Camargo.

Gokey was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dana Jo and Tracie Lyn of the home; his mother, Ethel Maines of Tecumseh; three sisters, Louise White of Tecumseh, Emma Bernard of Norman and Helen Littleton of Tecumseh; three brothers, Leo Gokey of Tecumseh, Frank Gokey of Sandy, Ore., and Louis Gokey of Liberal.
