The Blewett Family
Frank Blewett was born on September 17, 1895 in Penzance England and died at age 84 in Erie, PA. As a young boy his mother, brothers and sisters immigrated to the United States, passing through Ellis Island. His family settled in Erie, Pennsylvania.
During World War I Frank enlisted in the US Army and served in Europe. During the war he was "gassed" with mustard gas. Upon return to the United States he was treated for his injuries at a hospital in Philadelphia where a nurse by the name of Zelma Irene Bourell from Illinois treated him. They fell in love and were married October 22, 1924 in Erie, PA where they made their home and began a family. They had 3 children, Irene & Frank (twins) and Enid.
Frank worked at the General Electric Locomotive plant in Erie as a production engineer and union shop steward. In 1938 Zelma died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Frank married Susan Robinson on November 1, 1941.
