Charlotte Larsdotter was the daughter of Lars Jonasson and Kajsa Pettersdotter . She was born at Sevenbo, Hejesta, Skaraborg, Lan Sweden, 31 July 1845.

Grandmother once worked in a store in Sweden , and the remarkable thing about it was that, for all she worked there for sixteen years , she couldn't write her name. She did all her figuring in her head. Grandmothers schooling consisted of only three days schooling where she learned to read.

Grandmother, like Grandfather, had to be re-baptized and re-confirmed , when they came Utah. Grandmother met and married John Fredrick Johnson Ek, 21 of October 1876.At that time, she was thirty one years old.

She Grandfather and their children immigrated to Utah from Sweden 23 of May 1888 .She was endowed and sealed to her husband and children in the Salt Lake Temple, in 1893.

Grandmother was about five feet tall and weighed 160 pounds .Her eyes were brown and her hair was dark brown. Although she was eighty six years old when she died , still her hair had not turned gray.She was very spry until about a month before her death, although the last year of her life she became blind. At the age of 74, she helped Uncle Theodore her son, raise his two- week old baby, until her married again 5 years later.

Grandmother knew the scriptures very well, and had the standard works of the church in Swedish, and these she read very often. She never learned to speak English , but all her Grandchildren learned to understand her pretty well.

The last few years of her life, she spent much or nearly all of her time, listening to the radio, which she enjoyed immensely.We all loved her.

Grandmother died 8 December 1931 at Pleasent Green Salt Lake County , Utah at the age of 86, and was buried besides Grandfather in the Pleasant Green Cemetery.
