Delbert O'Neal Bledsoe, 79, passed away June 15, 2010 at his home near Checotah. Delbert was born April 30, 1931 in Checotah to Roy and Dora Bledsoe. Delbert served twenty-three years in the Air Force and was active in Vietnam. He was a member of the DAV, American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge and the First Baptist Church of Checotah. Delbert was a loving and generous man who will be missed by many friends and loved ones. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Delbert returned to England to marry Herta Krischke, the love of his life that he had met during his first European tour. They resided in Silver End, Essex, England until they returned to make their home in Checotah. Delbert was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; four brothers, Lee, WR, Merle and Bob Bledsoe; and two sisters, Nola Bledsoe and Ima Madewell. He is survived by one brother, Virgil Bledsoe and his wife Nauweeta of Norman, OK; one sister, Betty Farrimond and her husband Oliver of Checotah; good friend, Loyde Murray; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a host of friends and loved ones. Graveside services for Delbert will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 19, 2010 at the Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Harry Dodd officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Tinker Air Force Honor Guard.
