Erbine Grousbeck
No service is planned for lifelong Creswell resident Erbine D. Grousbeck, who died Mar. 23, 2008 of heart failure at the age of 90.
He was born May 10, 1917 in Creswell to Van and Anna Stukey Grousbeck. On Mar. 16, 1959 he married Barbara Elaine Patrick in Reno, Nev.
After graduating from Creswell High School, he attended college in Eugene, Ore. for two years.
He owned a dairy farm south of Creswell and drove a bus for the Creswell School District for 26 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and the Dorena Grange, receiving a Golden Sheaf award. From 1985 to 2000 he was a volunteer driver for Senior Wheels, receiving an award for his service.
He is survived by: his wife, Barbara Elaine Grousbeck of Creswell; two sons, Daniel Grousbeck of Creswell and Van Grousbeck of Halsey, Ore.; two step-daughters, Carol Thompson of Springfield, Ore. and Melody Taisey of St. Marys, Idaho; a step-son, Ted Tokie of Creswell; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
A brother, Earl Grousbeck, and a sister, Alma Clark, predeceased him.
He will be inurned at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery, where a graveside service for family members will be held at a future date. Andreason's Cremation and Burial Service in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
