I lost a young cousin when I was 11. Ever since then I had been extremely uncomfortable in cemeteries. A couple of years ago, my husband and I happened upon an old cemetery way out in the country. I was fascinated by the tower stones with years, months, AND days of someone's life. I found that a lot can be learned about a person from their headstone. I was around 40 when I finally was able to overcome this horrible phobia. I discovered this site a year ago and found my great-grandma's grave. Last summer we drove a distance to my uncle's memorial service. I turned around and was seeing the familiar sight of my great-grandma's grave, now in person.
Yesterday my husband and I enjoyed searching for the first time, and were able to fulfill 4 requests from 1 of the cemeteries. I came home and searched for the stories of some of the graves we found. I think we may have found a new hobby!
