Lulu was the daughter of Benjamin and Agnes Shelton of Wayne Co.IL She was the sister of 3 brothers whom were the famous Shelton gang.
She married James Zuber and they had a son James. In the divorce the father got Jimmy. The Sheltons kidnapped Jimmy back and he did not see his father till he was grown. Jimmy was the last Shelton gang member to die. 1931 - 2015

She later remarried Guy Pennington. One day in 1950 in Fairfield Wayne Co. IL, she and Guy were attatcked by machine gun in broad daylight and each were hit 4 times. A few days later a farmer was killed in a tavern-and the Pennington tavern was burnt down. It is thought the shooter was Charlie Harris and he was killing a witness to his shooting of the Penningtons.
