Mrs. Agnes Shelton dies in Florida
Well known Merriam resident died at her home Saturday; funeral was Monday (1957) Mrs. Agnes, wel known former Merriam resident and mother of the notorious Shelton Brothers died Saturday at her home, 1386 Dakar Street in Jacksonville Florida. Funeral services were conducted from the Memorial Chapel of Seas Funeral Parlors in that city, with Rev. Carl Howell, pastor of the Murray Hill Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. She was born in Nebo, Ky and had lived in Jacksonville
about six years. From Nebo, Ky Mrs. Shelton moved from her home to Merriam Crossroads in July 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben, three sons, Carl in 1947, Bernie in 1948, and Roy in 1950, Surviving are two sons, Earl and Dalta Shelton and two daughters, Mrs Hazel McDonald and Mrs. Lulu Pennington all of Jacksonville, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
