From the Harrington Citizen Newspaper, 21 Dec 1917; "John, the 8 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Roy Miller, living 6 miles west of Edwall, was thrown from a horse he was riding to school at Bluestem last Monday and killed. His neck was broken and skull fractured. A dog frightened his horse just as he was entering town.
The remains were taken to Harrington Tuesday for burial. He leaves to mourn his loss, a father, mother, two sisters and a baby brother."
