Her father was John Wesley Matherly and her mother, Elizabeth Jane (Edwards) Matherly. They were early pioneers of Bluestem, Lincoln County, WA having come to the area in 1888 by covered wagons. They had 9 children and Pearl was their youngest child.

She married first to Roy Rudolph Miller 15 April 1906. He was a wheat farmer in the Bluestem-Harrington-Davenport area until his death in 1925.

She married to Warren W. Kees 29 August 1925 Davenport, Lincoln County, WA. He preceded her in death.

She lived in California 10 years, and then moved to the Spokane Valley, Spokane, WA.

She was living in the Spokane Valley and died in a Spokane Hospital. She had 9 children and only 1 living when she passed away, her daughter Martha.
