Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Strong-Thorne chapel for Erastus E. Wright, pioneer Estancia Valley settler who died in a local hospital Saturday after a long illness.

Rev. Talmadge Taylor will officiate, and burial will be in Barton Cemetery at Barton.

Mr. Wright, who was 87, lived here at 1820 Candelaria NW.

He came to New Mexico fom Iowa in 1908 in a covered wagon with his wife and five children, and homesteaded near what is now Edgewood in the Estancia Valley. He farmed and ranched in the valley for many years, retiring and moving here 16 years ago.

He was a member of the Church of God.

Surviving are two sons, Leonard of Albuquerque and Russell Wright of Belen; seven daughters, Mrs. Mabel Meek, of Los Lunas, Mrs. Martha Claire of Arcadia, Calif., Mrs. Evelyn McClellan and Mrs. Elsie Thomas of Albuquerque, Mrs. Corinne Nobel of Espanola, Mrs. Eva Sorler of Kinston, Wash., and Mrs. Geneva Sullivan of Las Cruces; and two brothers, Ed and Ernest Wright in Oklahoma.
