Thomas was born in Honea Path, Anderson County, South Carolina son of the late, Dr. Thomas A. and Ella Gaines Hudgens and brother of the late, Lt. William A. Hudgens who was killed in action in France, John A. Hudgens from Pelzer, Frank A. Hudgens from Nashville, Tennessee, Mrs. Frank Wardlaw from Guthrieville, South Carolina, Mrs. J. W. Payne from Epworth, South Carolina and Mrs. L.L. Wright from Honea Path, South Carolina. He passed away very suddenly after an attack of influenza at the Hudgens home in Honea Path.
