Frank Willoughby, 86, of Toone, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at West Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt.

The widower of Ruby Collins Willoughby, who died on September 26, 1999, he was a retired foreman with the Armira Corporation, having worked there over twenty years. He also was a newspaper delivery person with the Jackson Sun and Commercial Appeal. He was born November 7, 1920, in Toone, son of the late Larnce and Eula Bell Tippitt Willoughby and lived all of his life here. He served in the US Army during World War II in Italy and Africa as an ambulance driver on the front lines. He was a founding member of the Hardeman County Developmental Center, working diligently to establish it with his wife, and served as VFW Post Commander of post # 2949. His family stated that his family was his life. Mr. Willoughby was a member of Clover Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Willoughby of Bolivar and Diane Hammonds of Union City; two brothers, Elvin Willoughby of Toone and Willard Smith of Bolivar; two grandchildren, Dustin Hammonds and Sunny Hall both of Knoxville; and five great grandchildren, Curry and Caden Hammonds, and triplets, Braylen, Kyan and Kynsie Hall. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Smith and Curtis Willoughby and two sisters, Earline Villines and Omega Nuckolls.
