HOLT
VELLA THOMSON HOLT, beloved wife of Murray Holt of Raymond, passed away in Calgary on Sunday, June 12th, 1977 at the age of 62 years.
Vella was born at Magrath on January 15th, 1915 The daughter of George and Malissa Winterton Thomson. She received her schooling in Magrath and worked as a telephone operator for two years prior to her marriage to Murray Holt on November ll, 1936. She moved to Raymond where she resided until the time of her passing.
She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church serving in various ward and stake positions in the auxiliary organizations. She was noted for her handicraft and homemaking skills.
Besides her husband, Murray, she is survived by four sons; Max (Judy), Robert(Helen), Bruce (Margaret) and Alan (Karen)all of Raymond: three daughters, Carol (David) Innes of Cardston, Marie (Gary) Stailey of Silver City, New Mexico and Beth, student nurse at Edmonton; and 17 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Malissa Winterton Thomson of Magrath, two brothers, Earl and Rulon of Magrath; two sisters, Marie (Fulton) Bevans of Cardston and Norma (Jack) Hallmark of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
She was predeceased by one grandson Tim Holt, her father, George Thomson, and one brother, Mervin.
Funeral services will be held in the Raymond Cultural Hall in the Raymond Cultural Hall on Thursday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m. Bishop Willard Paxman officiating. Interment will follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery.
