THOMSON
EARL GEORGE THOMSON, beloved husband of Edna Thomson, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 1997 in Lethbridge, at the age of 84 years.
Besides his loving wife, Edna, Earl is survived by 5 of his own children, as well as Edna's five children; 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sister, Marie (Fulton) Bevans of Cardston and Norma (Jack) Hallmark of Salt Lake City.
He was predeceased by his fist wife, LaDean Passey in 1967; a sister, Vella Holt and two brothers, Mervin and Rulon.
Earl was born on January 11, 1913 in Magrath and received his schooling there. He was the oldest child of George and Malissa Thomson, who were early settlers in Magrath. Earl lived all of his life in Magrath and the surrounding area. He appreciated his pioneer heritage.
Earl married LaDean Passey on March 7, 1934. He married Edna Zemp Harker on June 15, 1968.
Earl was a successful farmer and rancher. He had a great love for farming, working the land and raising cattle. He had a special fondness for horses. In his later years, he began breeding cutting horses for show and sale. He will be missed by his family, friends and business associates.
Friends may meet the family at the Church on Tuesday, February 11, 1997 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. or at the Church prior to the service, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:40 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Magrath Stake Centre on Wednesday, February 12, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Ron Low officiating. Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery.
