Mrs. Rosanna MacKinney was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania on March 9, 1883. She was the daughter of the late Robert Harris Gearhart and Mary Cornman Gearhart. She was married an June 18, 1903 to the late Louis H. MacKinney, and the couple had one son, Arland L. MacKinney, (deceased). Following the death of her husband in 1931, Mrs. MacKinney worked at the YWCA in Asheville, NC. Later, she worked with several orphanages in Washington, D. C. and in Pennsylvania.
Upon her retirement, she took up residence at the Florida Lutheran Retirement Center in Deland, Florida, where she lived until 1974. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Deland, the Daughters of American Revolution, and the Order of The Eastern Star.
She was buried in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She is survived by one grandson and seven great grandchildren
