Company E, 86th Regiment, Indiana Infantry, Civil War (note: VA records list his name as Solomon Lightly, headstone shows his name as Solomon Lighty) His father was Benjamin Lighty and his mother Mary Ann "Polly" Hubler. Solomon married Nancy Abolt July 31,1859 in Warren County,Indiana, at age 29. Together, they had two daughters, Mary Caroline, and Harriet "Hattie" Marie. Mary Caroline married Samuel Mills in 1877, and later they migrated to Mills County, Iowa with Samuel's family. Hattie remained in Indiana and married Charles Clawson, in Sep 1877. They had one daughter, Lela. Hattie's death and burial is unknown at this time, but thought to be in Indianapolis, Indiana.
