Age 87, passed away at 8pm Sunday after and extended illness. He was born February 6, 1885 in Hortonville, Wisconsin. He had lived in Appleton most of his life and was formerly employed by Tuttle Press Company for many years, and was head electrician when he retired seventeen years ago. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Waverly Lodge No. 51, F. and A.M. He was also a member of the Twenty Five year club of the Tuttle Press Company.

Survivors are his wife Gertrude, a daughter in law Mrs. June McGregor, Appleton; a brother, Arthur, Antigo, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Mrs. William Porter, Madison and John, of Appleton; and nieces and nephews. His son, Harold, preceded him in death four months ago.

Complete funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Herman Thomas will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9pm on Tuesday and Wednesday after 8am until the time of services. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30pm Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
