ROBERT M'GREGOR DIED SATURDAY - Well Known Langlade County Resident Will Be Buried Tomorrow

Robert McGregor, 83, early Langlade County resident, died at 2:30 pm Saturday afternoon, April 11, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles McCandless.

The deceased was born September 23, 1847 near Montreal, Canada. He came to Wisconsin when he was eight years old, with his parents. They lived on a farm near Hortonville. The family moved to Langlade County thirty-five years ago, and settled on a farm two miles southeast of Antigo. Twenty years ago, they sold the farm and moved to Antigo, where Mr. McGregor has lived since.

He was united in marriage in 1871 to Sarah Briggs of Hortonville. Mrs. Briggs died September 12, 1927. Eight children were born to this union: Edward and Archie of Appleton, William and Arthur of Antigo; and four daughters: Mrs. Charles McCandless, Antigo; Mrs. Robert Schroeder, town of Rolling; Mrs. Floyd Huggins, Antigo; and Mrs. Vera DeVore, who died January 20, 1922.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm tomorrow (Tuesday) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles McCandless, 1220 Fourth avenue, the Rev. J.T. Bowden officiating. Interment will be in the Antigo cemetery.
