Jack K. Gearhart, 64, of Road 800N died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Gearhart retired in 1995 from Golden Casting where he worked for 38 years. He served six years in Indiana National Guard and was a member of World of Pentecost.
Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at World of Pentecost with the Rev. Dan Mitchell officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Daughtery Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Born in Columbus Dec. 19, 1934, Mr. Gearhart was the son of Alta Brinker Gearhart Abney of Columbus and the late Carl Gearhart. He married Patricia Joan Dill in 1955. She died in 1975. He married Joy R. Laffoon Nov. 14, 1975. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Sharon E. Turpin of Plainfield, Jackie E. Criggar of Greenwood, Staci M. King of Cartersburg and Lynetta Jo Thompson of Columbus; stepsons, Wallace E. and Jessie H. Mize, both of Columbus; brothers, Ken, Dean and Richard Gearhart and Jimmy Abney, all of Columbus, and Lee Gearhart of Miami; sisters, Jeanne Abney of Franklin and Nancy Setter of Columbus; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Edward Gearhart; and a granddaughter, Lisa Cheyenne Turpin.
