Mrs. Allen before her marriage was Miss Maddie A. Terrell [sic Terral], born in Union Parish, April 20th, 1877. January 9th, 1896, she was married to Mr. Archie L. Allen. She joined the Baptist Church at the age of 13 and has always lived a devoted Christian. She has been ill since December 15th before going to Shreveport for the operation.
Besides her husband she leaves four children, all grown. They are Mrs. A. M. Dickerson, Cedar Grove; Miss Lola Allen, Shreveport; Miss Leona Allen, Winnfield; and Byron Allen, also of Winnfield.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Dr. Geo. H. Crutcher, pastor, conducting the services. Interment was in Winnfield Cemetery.
