SHREVEPORT, LA - Miss Lola Ethel Allen, 88, died at Schumpert Medical Center on Thursday, June 18, 1992 after a brief illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home at 3631 Southern Ave., Friday, June 19, 1992 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Frost Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Jon Stubblefield, pastor of First Baptist Church of which she was a member since 1924. She was very active in her church, teaching the Second Grade Sunday School Class for many years, a member of the Fifty Year Club at First Baptist, the Gleaners Sunday School Class, and the Women's Department Club. Miss Allen retired from the Caddo Sheriff's Office in the accounting department. In her life, she gave many dedicated hours of volunteer work to her community.

Miss Allen was a native of Dodson, Louisiana and had been a resident of Shreveport for over 70 years.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Leona Thomas of Penney Farms, Florida; a number of nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Ruth Mahlen.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Shreveport.
