Noah Gilbert, father of our old fried Dan Gilbert of Marshall township, died at his home in Robinson on Monday evening, Feb. 6. The remains were taken to Martinsville for interment on Friday.

Mr. Gilbert was born in Coshocton Co, Ohio, Dec. 22, 1819, and was therefore a little past 79 when he died. In December 1843, he married Miss Anne E. Norris. Six children were born to them, five of whom are yet living. The family moved to Clark county in 1863, locating in Martinsville township. Six years later, they moved to Coles Co., where Mrs. Gilbert died in '78. About six years ago, Mr. Gilbert went down to Robinson to visit a sister and there met Mrs. Martha Turner, whom he married. They made Robinson their home during the remainder of their days.

Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Baptist church from early youth, and died in that faith.

Mrs. Gilbert died on the evening of the day her husband was buried--Friday Fe. 10. Her remains were buried in the Robinson cemetery.
