Jo Alva Fortuney Davis
Charlie Lee Davis, 86, son of John and Fannie (Pollard) Davis, was born September 25,1913 near Clara, Missouri. He died August 17,2000 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital at Houston, Missouri
Mr Davis spent more than three years in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European area. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Corporal at Fort Bliss, Texas. He lived in Stockton, California where he was an electrican with Diamond Walnut Factory. He retired in 1976.
Due to Ill health, he came back to Missouri in February 2000.
He was preceded in death by hih parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Surviving are his his wife Jo Alva Fortuney Davis of Stockton, California, four step-children of Stockton, California- four sisters: Nellie Chrisman,Velma Mead,Esther Hobbs and Hazel Berry, all of Cabool, Missouri and four brothers: Buck, Bill, Arlin and Gene all of Cabool, Missouri
Services were August 21,2000 at the Elliott Gentry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Wolford Cemetery at Clara, Missouri with Military rites conducted by Veterans of Foriegn Wars Post 473 of Cabool, Missouri
