Mrs. George, 89, died Sunday in Divine Redeemer Hospital in South St. Paul, Minn., of natural causes.
She was born in Sauda, Norway, a daughter of Gunder and Jorun Arthun. She came to the United States with her parents when she was nine months old, settling on Butcher Creek where she attended school. The family later settled in Roscoe. As a young woman she spent summers working at The Lodge at East Rosebud Lake. On Feb 14 1927, she married Alva T. George in Billings. He died Aug. 16, 1964.
Sourvivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Virginia) Mandeville of Indialantic, Fla., and Mrs. Eugene (Mary Ann) Campbell of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; three sons, Alvin T. of Fromberg, Arnold H. of Roscoe and Stanley W. of Billings; a brother, Norden Arthun of Roscoe; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Absarokee with burial in the Roscoe Cemetery. Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge is in charge.
