Ruby Mae Ballenger, 89, of Maryville, Mo passed from this life on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.
Born on August 11, 1920 in Maryville, she was the daughter of Walter James and Stella Sumner Hayden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Ballenger on August 24, 1991.
She was a homemaker most of her life and also worked in retail with various stores.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, the United Methodist Women and a 62 year member of the Rosanna Chapter #262 Order of the Eastern Star, Maryville.
She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Kealye M. Pournazari, Overland Park, Kansas, Ra'Londa J. Byre and husband Dean, Lincoln, Nebraska, Timothy T. Lewis and wife Leigh-Anne, Maryville, Lance W. Lewis, Maryville; great-grandchildren; Marc M. Pournazari, Dillon D. Byre, Paige N. Lewis, Alex N. Lewis, Morgan J. Lewis; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Barbara Lewis, son-in-law Ronnie Lewis and nine other siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Maryville. Final resting place will be in the Nodaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, Mo. on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with an Eastern Star service starting at 7:30 p.m.
