Mrs. W.P. Gleason's Mother Passes Away in Illinois
Mrs. Emma Fitzpatrick of near Lerna, IL died at 8:45 Wednesday morning, Nov. 18, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Everett Myers, 1801 Richmond Ave., Mattoon, IL following an operation 2 months ago in Champaign. She was 72 yrs old. Mrs. Fitzpatrick, formerly Emma Bullock, was born July 11, 1870 in Payneville, KY. She was married to John Mack Chism of near Payneville in 1887 and they made their home near Wolf Creek, KY. Mr. Chism died in 1907 and 12 yrs later she went to Mattoon. In 1921, she was married to Asbury Fitzpatrick of Mattoon and they moved to a farm near Lerna. Mr. Fitzpatrick died in 1925 and Mrs. Fitzpatrick continued to live there until entering the hospital. Surviving are 7 children by her first marriage, 3 sons, Martin F. Chism of Decatur, Dorsey C. Chism of Chicago Heights and Owen Chism of Lerna; 4 daughters, Mrs. Ila Myers, Mattoon, Mrs. W.P. Gleason of Wolf Creek, KY and Mrs. Letha Stiles of Ottawa and Mrs. Edith Michel of Los Angeles, CA and a sister, Mrs. Kate Stiles of Battletown, KY. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a member of the Methodist church. The children were called to her bedside. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Mattoon Friday, Nov. 20. Burial was near Lerna, IL.
