Mr. Powell was born in St. Paul, MN on February 7, 1921, and passed away in Shreveport on January 27, 2006. He served his country as a naval aviator during WWII. After the war he joined the naval reserves and retired as a commander in 1981. Mr. Powell graduated law school and worked as a corporate tax attorney for Prudential Insurance Company. Mr. Powell was an avid golfer and gardner.
He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Powell. Survivors include his son, Ned Powell and wife Janice of Shreveport, LA, daughter, Amy Wymer Keyser Powell of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Mary Bastian and husband Vince of St. Paul, MN and Rita M. Wersich of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Edmund W. Powell and wife Ellen of Milwaukee, WI and Cornelius P. Powell and wife Louise of Allentown, PA; grandchildren, Mikalena Wymer of Swathmore, PA and George Wymer of Placenta, CA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives....
