Graveside services for Calvin "Jack" Lauderdale, 83, of Lamesa, will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 9:00 a.m., at Dawson County Cemetery with David Fletcher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

Jack passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 in Lamesa.

He was born on December 14, 1926 in Ackerly to William and Elizabeth Lauderdale. He married Lois Darlene Clements on August 29, 1952 in Rockwall, Texas.

Jack was a Tech 5 Engineer with the Untied States Army from 1945 until 1946. He was awarded the American Theater Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal.

Jack was a general contractor for 50 years and owned and operated Lauderdale Builders.

He spent his free time driving teams of horses and building wagons during the last years of his life. Jack loved his family and his kids dearly.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; sons, Marshall and wife, Jonice Lauderdale, of Lamesa and Butch and wife, Kelley Lauderdale, of Clifton; a daughter, Leta and husband, Steve Allen, of Lamesa; sisters, Dot Smith of Vernon, Texas and Madge Delany of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Edd Lauderdale of Sequin, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Beatrice Hodges, Geraldine Stone, Ella Williams, Bernice Stevenson and Wanda Callaway; his brothers, Munroe, Pittman, George and Dick Lauderdale; and a son, Ray Lauderdale.

The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice, 901 W Missouri, Midland, TX 79701.
