F.Y.I., brothers John and Daniel Carter married sisters, Lucinda and Margaret Jennings.

Edward did enter to serve the North Carolins cause for the Revolutionary War at age 15 ! ! ! , but soon became a sergeant in Alderso's Company before age 20. This was definitely against the Friend's teaching, although the Church never seemed to make an issue of this matter.
The Church did take issue with the courtship of both Edward and his brother John's and request to marry to sister' Mary and Jane. Only John and Jane request was received full unity back in the Church. Edward and Mary did not seem to be concern, so they married out side the Church. John and Jane married in public meet at Holy Springs in 1781
